Bob Lapinski Student Journalist Scholarship

This application is for Spring 2026.

PURPOSE: The goal of the Bob Lapinski Student Journalist Scholarship is to support students on staff of the Courier Student Newspaper pursuing an Associate Degree with a Concentration in Journalism/Mass Communications and aspire to a career in journalism.

• Applicants must have the following criteria:
• Applicant must be a staff member of the Courier Student Newspaper
• Applicant must submit a one-page essay describing their educational goals and their plans to pursue a career in journalism/mass communications
• Preference will be given to students enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours
• Preference will be given to students who plan on transferring to a four year institution in pursuit of a bachelors degree
• Financial need will be considered (submit the FAFSA for applicable year)
