Don Dame Memorial Scholarship

The goal of the Don Dame Memorial Scholarship is to support students pursuing an Associate Degree from the College of DuPage with Aspirations to transfer to a four-year institution and pursue a bachelor’s degree. Don Dame started as a guidance counselor at the College of DuPage before it was fully built and retired as a Professor and Director of Articulation 40 years later. He was a first-generation college student committed to helping students navigate from the College of DuPage into a four-year school. Additionally, in his role at the college, he drafted the transfer handbook and coordinated with large universities to ensure classes at the College of DuPage were recognized by those institutions.

Criteria:

  • Applicant must be first-generation
  • Applicant must aspire to transfer to a four-year university
  • Applicant must be enrolled in at least six credit hours per semester
  • Applicants must submit a one-page essay describing their intention of earning an associate degree and their plans to transfer to a four-year institution
  • Financial need may be considered.
