Lloyd David and Carlye Cannon Wattis Foundation Memorial Scholarship

This application is for Fall 2025.

PURPOSE: The Lloyd David and Carlyle Cannon Wattis Foundation Memorial Scholarship honors an English or Journalism major with an interest in writing as a tool of communication. This scholarship is generously funded by The Wattis Foundation in memory of Lloyd David and Carlyle Cannon Wattis.

Applicants must have the following criteria:

• Applicants must be majoring in English, Journalism, or a related field; excel in writing and/or communication
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
• Be a resident of District 502 (College of DuPage’s district).
• Applicants must submit a writing sample in order to complete the application process.
• Preference will be given to full-time students (those enrolled in at least 12 credit hours for the applicable semester).
