Volunteers in Action Scholarship

This application is for Fall 2025.

PURPOSE: The Volunteers in Action Scholarship provides financial assistance for students pursuing a career that will contribute to the social welfare of our community, including human services, health care, the ministry, and other related professions. This scholarship is generously funded by Volunteers in Action, an organization that provided a framework to meet the needs of the community with dedicated volunteers for charitable organizations within DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will Counties.

Applicants must have the following criteria:

• Must be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours at College of DuPage for the applicable semester
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Be a resident of DuPage, Kane, Kendall, or Will County
• Provide documentation of volunteer services of at least 30 hours per year
• Be pursuing a degree in the field of health care, the ministry, or a related service field
• File the FAFSA for the applicable academic year.
• Applicants must submit a personal statement about their career goals, volunteer experience, and how and why they became involved with their chosen volunteer activities.
