In a collaboration between Foster Love, Charles River Laboratories, and the Milligan Foundation, we are excited to offer this incredible scholarship program tailored to elevating the experiences of current and former foster youth across the United States. scholarship program for current and former foster youth pursuing an education in veterinary studies. This scholarship provides up to $12,000 annually for two years and is designed to tackle the financial roadblocks that often come with pursuing a veterinary technician certification, licensure, or vocational degree.

Our Award Benefits
- Recipients are awarded up to $12,000 a year for up to two years, a total scholarship of $24,000

Eligibility
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 to 25 during the year of application.
- Applicants must hold United States citizenship.
- Applicants must provideacceptance into an accredited two-year public or nonprofit college or vocational school, with the intent to enroll on a full-time basis.
- Applicants must have completed high school/GED during the year of application.
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- The applicant must pursue a major in veterinary studies or related fields and aspire to become a veterinarian or veterinary technician.
- Applicants must provide proof of foster care that demonstrates either:
- The applicant resided in either public or private foster care in the United States for a continuous 12-month period leading up to and including their 18th birthday, OR
- The applicant was orphaned for a minimum of one year by the time of their 18th birthday, OR
- The applicant was adopted or placed into legal guardianship from foster care after the applicant’s thirteenth birthday.
