Tom Robertson Memorial Scholarship

PURPOSE: Professor Tom Robertson dedicated his career to educating and mentoring students in the automotive program at College of DuPage. As a passionate instructor of AUTO 2280 – Automotive Service, he recognized the financial challenges students faced, particularly the burden of enrolling in this intensive 6-credit-hour course. Tom was deeply committed to removing obstacles that could prevent students from pursuing their education and career goals in the automotive industry.
To honor his legacy, the Tom Robertson Memorial Scholarship was established through the generosity of his many friends at College of DuPage, who came together to create this fund as a tribute to his unwavering dedication to students. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students enrolled in AUTO 2280 – Automotive Service, a hands-on course that offers advanced automotive students invaluable real-world experience in repair and service, preparing them for successful careers in the industry.
Each year, one deserving student will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship for the summer term, helping to offset the cost of tuition and course-related expenses. Through this scholarship, Tom Robertson’s legacy of student support and mentorship lives on, ensuring that financial barriers do not stand in the way of education and future success.
Applicants must have the following criteria:
- Must be enrolled in AUTO 2280 – Automotive Service (6 Credit Hours)
- Commitment to advancing in the automotive field
