The Yarka Vendrinska Photojournalism Memorial Scholarship

This application is for Fall 2026/Spring 2027.

PURPOSE: This scholarship is established in loving memory of Yarka Vendrinska, a photography/photojournalism student of College of DuPage and a passionate photographer. Yarka’s work focuses on capturing people who appear ordinary, yet possess a great deal of dignity, pride, and strength. This scholarship is intended to provide a meaningful financial support to students pursuing a degree in Photography Technology AAS Program, helping them to further their creative talents and educational goals.

• Applicants must be enrolled in the Photography Technology AAS Program.
• Financial Need will be considered.
• Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
• Preference will be given to students whose photogenic work reflects a commitment to capturing the human experience, particularly highlighting vulnerable or underrepresented populations, and raising awareness of social issues.
• Applicants must submit three samples of work for review.
• Award is split for $1,500 for fall and $1,500 for spring.
• Scholarship will be renewed for Spring semester if student maintains a 2.75 GPA or higher.
